Castelldefels is an ideal place for young people due to its Mediterranean climate, its ambiance, its safety, its approximately 5 km long beach (considered the best in Barcelona), and its proximity to downtown Barcelona (15 minutes) and the airport (10 minutes). It is a destination for family and sports tourism due to its numerous facilities. On the other side of the city, in the upper part, you can enjoy the flora and fauna offered by the Garraf massif. And it is here, at the foot of this massif, where our school is located.
Our language stays are aimed at groups of children and young people, aged 12 to 16, with a companion, and from 17 years old with or without a companion.
The programs are tailored and the dates can be chosen at any time of the year. The groups are closed, with a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 50 students. They can come with companions from their school or alone.
Parents who enroll their children at Idealog have the peace of mind of knowing that they are in a safe place, in a family environment, and in a small city free from the dangers that can be found in a larger one. During their stay, students continuously practice the Spanish language: with teachers, host families, monitors, and Spanish students of their age who attend language courses in our center.

Methodology and Objectives
Idealog’s language stays combine language learning with the fun of activities, cultural visits, and the experience of living with a Spanish family. The language stays are offered in the 6 levels of the CEFR (from A1 to C2) in homogeneous groups of up to 9 students. They are adapted to the levels and needs of the students, taking into account the reduced number of hours (between 20 and 40 hours) and the fact that the participants are on vacation (working on projects, playing games, having debates). They primarily aim to provide a comprehensive review of what has been studied in Spanish classes at the students’ schools or institutes, and to practice their knowledge in small groups outside of the classroom. Many students have good theoretical knowledge but do not have the opportunity to use it orally in their own countries. It is also a unique opportunity to get to know the culture and customs of Spain through outings, excursions, workshops (cooking, flamenco dancing, etc.), and daily life with a Spanish family.
Accommodation
For the language stays, we offer students accommodation with Spanish families on a half-board basis (breakfast and dinner – full board on weekends). These families are selected based on strict criteria and their motivation to host foreign students and enhance their stay. The student is considered a member of the family, and a close bond is formed. Many of our students stay in touch with their host families even after their stay! All our families live near the center (within a maximum of 20 minutes walking distance). Students can be accommodated in groups of 2 or 3 people or individually. For those who do not want to stay with a host family, Idealog can arrange hotel, apartment, or aparthotel reservations.
Link to accommodations Idealog takes care of all the organization of the stay, including airport transfers, accommodation, meals, classes, materials, activities, and insurance. The only thing the student or their teacher needs to do is book the flights.
Example of a full day
- 8 am to 9 am: Breakfast with the family
- 9 am to 11 am: Spanish class
- 11 am to 11:30 am: Swimming and lunch
- 11:30 am to 1 pm: Spanish class
- 1 pm to 2 pm: Lunch at Idealog or picnic
- 2 pm to 3 pm: Rest or self-study or Q&A session
- 3 pm to 8 pm: Cultural or sports activities, visits
- 8 pm to 11 pm: Dinner with the family or as a group (barbecue, tapas)

Activities:
Idealog offers a wide range of activities, which are chosen based on the students’ preferences. All activities have a playful aspect and are related to learning, either through the language or its cultural aspects.
